Description

The combination of primary tenets of an engaging user experience and the revolution in the Natural User Interface (NUI) provides a great opportunity for developers to enhance the overall user experience of their applications. As the world of NUI evolves, with touch becoming a norm for how we use computers and revolutionary devices such as Kinect for Windows paving the way for gesture and voice-controlled interfaces, there is a demand for developers to craft increasingly sophisticated user experiences. A touch, gesture, or voice-optimized experience requires developers to think of visual design in a whole new way and demands a new set of usability skills which encompasses user interaction design. This demo-laden session takes an amusing look at the past and surveys some of the best and most engaging software being built today. It also investigates the NUI of the future.
