This video demonstrates some of the ways to read data from a list in SharePoint 2013. The CSOM, or Client-Side Object Model, has been enhanced with more capabilities than previous versions. REST with OData protocol now makes it easy to retrieve data using simple HTTP requests. The SharePoint JavaScript (SP.JS) library is available and already wired up when you build a SharePoint app. With just these three tools, developers enjoy many possibilities when it comes to working with SharePoint data.
